Anyone have a Mitutoyo Surftest?
I bought an old Mitutoyo Surftest on ebay the other day - I'm told it works, but then I was told the electronic indicator I bought worked too (the seller took that one back). The latest ones have a colour LCD screen but this one only puts values based on switches on the back. It looks like this

Does anyone have a manual (or know where to get one) for it? Most of it is straight forward but there are two switches on the back marked filter 1 and filter 2. As the filter settings will affect the readings, it would be nice to know what they are. I've already tried www.mitutoyo.co.jp web site but it's superseded so nothing.

(We occasionally deal with surfaces at work that have to be very smooth (Ra < 0.1), but haven't got anyway to check what we are looking at. I'm hoping that this can be resuscitated enough that it gives an indication on whether or not things need to be refinished)Last edited by Michael G; 2nd February 2013 at 09:45 PM.
