Mt1.5
Have a Toyo ML-1 with this taper in the spindle. Finally getting around to putting it back together. Any idea where to get 1.5 Morse Tapers in a blank end arbor, or even anything with this taper? Been searching but have found very little.

Hi Nev
You could try to get in contact with this guy: 1.5 Morse Taper Short Form | Model Engineer He seems to have the same lathe and had the same problem. One of the answers he got was that a 1.5 was a short version of a MT2 (or possibly 1....)
Good luck1915 17"x50" LeBlond heavy duty Lathe, 24" Queen city shaper, 1970's G Vernier FV.3.TO Universal Mill, 1958 Blohm HFS 6 surface grinder, 1942 Rivett 715 Lathe, 14"x40" Antrac Lathe, Startrite H225 Bandsaw, 1949 Hercus Camelback Drill press, 1947 Holbrook C10 Lathe.

Ewan
I think it was that guy I got the manual from a couple of years ago and will need to see if I can get it again, as I think I lost it when I had computer problems once.
It's certainly not a short version of a MT2 and is much bigger than an MT1.
I can't seem to find anything except the same as what you posted.

Nev maybe it's not a morse taper, have you tried to measure it ?
in that link above he reckons "therefore, that MT1.5 should be very close to 0.5990" per foot."
That's very close to a Jano taper which are .600 per foot
check out wiki Machine taper - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Can I do a copy and paste from machinery's handbook, copy-write ???????
Dunno if I'm right or wrong Nev but it would be worth measuring and comparing to other tapers.

He does which is confusing. Will do some more checking and look at your link when I get more time. Am wondering if it's a morse taper myself. Can't believe what you read on the net.

I think it's a JT2 taper even though the dimensions don't quite point to it. Called in at Minitech but as my luck would have it, he had everything but a JT2 taper there. Will get to the bottom of this soon.
