I'm a newbie here, quite a good forum lots of traffic and some interesting info and quite a bit of unintentional humour. Based on what I've read, I think I'll just stay a lurker though. I've noticed that compared to other like minded forums there seem to be quite a few lunchbox legends, fitters and turners or just wannabes?

Welcome
But why bother posting if you just wanted to insult the members here?

Welcome csesiole,
Everyone is probably thinking "i'll let someone else respond first" so here goes....
I'm not sure on the point of the thread, and who you are classing as lunchbox legends and wannabe's, maybe you could tell us which one you are? We like to think we have a nice group of members here that help each other out and learn in the process (isn't that what we are all really here for?) We have our jokes and we have our disagreements, but overall this is a great forum and we like it and any good input is always appreciated.
I do suggest you read the forum rules carefully before you go saying something that someone might find denigrating.....
Edit, you posted as i did Marty...and here was me trying to be tactful1915 17"x50" LeBlond heavy duty Lathe, 24" Queen city shaper, 1970's G Vernier FV.3.TO Universal Mill, 1958 Blohm HFS 6 surface grinder, 1942 Rivett 715 Lathe, 14"x40" Antrac Lathe, Startrite H225 Bandsaw, 1949 Hercus Camelback Drill press, 1947 Holbrook C10 Lathe.

I hope I dont fall into the lunchbox wannabe catagory. Im none of the above, just a highschool metalwork teacher who really enjoys what he does. Saturdays are awesome because all the kids bugger off!!! Im a bit of a lurker myself, but if im confident in what im saying ill throw my hat into the ring because these places are only ever as good as the contributors.
Welcome to the forums!

Very Happy thank you
I don't know there is a point, does there have to be? I've also noticed the little boy's club that exists here, it's obvious that only those in the club are welcome and you all make each other feel good by patting each other on the back, there are also the outsiders, those that try but don’t quite fit in. Not meant to be insults, just observations. We all have our little idiosyncrasies, that's what makes us who we are. Some like those little quirks, some don’t... Don't believe I will Toolman, I'm always happy, but thanks for the invite.

Have to agree with him above, although I'd rather not.
You were sucked in folks. He went fishing, threw out the baited line and reeled you in.
Thread was left open so the now banned poster could get the kicking he deserved from the members instead of the Admin Team.
As for the originator of this ruse, we'll leave him up to you.
He had a good laugh at your expense.... so
Thread closed due to popular request.
