    Default Nuttall lathe manual

Does anyone have a manual for 71/2" centre height Nuttall lathe. A photocopy would be fine and I am willing to pay for it or swap NQ timbers or pen blanks. The lathe was made in 1965 and is 3' between centres. The poor old dear is leaking oil, and I need to replace all the seals, and a manual on how it is assembled would be a great help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Crocy.

Nuttall's used to still supported by a third party at least up till a year or so ago, they could supply you with a manual however a quick search they are no longer listed in the yellow pages so they may be no more, but you can try the phone number..

I have just come back from picking up the shaper off Brett. I told him about your email he said he has not seen yet so I think he will answer it on monday. While I was there (the shop was closed) I had a look around and he has a lot of spares for the Nuttall lathes, gears, gear blanks, spindles, pulleys and a heaps more.He also has a Ebay account his name is nuttalllathehttp://myworld.ebay.com.au/nuttalllathe/
I am not sure how he sends manuals or parts, but if I can help you out at all just let me know as I am only 15 minutes drive away from him.

    Hi Dave,
Thanks for the offer of help. Brett replied to my email and I am arranging payment. Its is so good to see some one is still looking after these old girls, they are the RollsRoyce of centre lathes, and are still better than the new ones available today,
    Thanks and regards,
    Crocy.

err not quite I would still like a Generation 500 model though... Years ago I saw a beauty for sale...They are probably all worn out by now, after all it has been 30+ years since the last one was made..

Why I think they are the RollsRoyces of centre lathes,
1, They have a clutch to slowly bring your work piece up to speed if there is any doubt,
2, They have a movable dial on the cross slide to easily reset to zero when reducing the diameter of an object,
3, Headstock bearings set by temperature,
    and on and on,
    regards,
    Croccy.
