    Default which oil

    The repco Power surface grinder I bought has bearings(?) in the ways, similar to this pic

    what oil do I use???

    Hi eskimo,
    You probably know or have found that the oil spreader rollers are spring loaded and the reservoir probably needs a good clean out. At least to me from the pic it appears to be an oil spreader roller.

    Be interesting if someone has the manual to see what the maker recommended. I would think any brand lightish to the low side of medium slideway oil would be sufficient.
    Personally I'd just use an hydraulic oil as there are plenty of hydraulic machines that lube the slideway/s with the hydraulic oil from the system.
