I have recently purchased a Hilger & Watts autocollimator but need to purchase or make a mirror sled. The only sled that I can find for sale is from Gena Bazarko in Ukraine (down with Russia...) but even that is now off eBay. I have emailed him to see if he has more.

I may well make a mirror sled using a first surface mirror. Does anybody have a good understanding of the technical specs of mirror that I would need to buy? It appears that a surface flatness of 1/10th wavelength is good but I have no idea in terms of surface coating material, wavelength range, surface quality or any other relevant spec. I also would like to purchase a PentaPrism so that I can do squareness checks but again I do not really understand the tech specs on those either.

The Edmond Optics website is useful but is full of tech jargon.

Just need to purchase or make a repeat-o-meter then I can get to work on checking/calibrating my surface plate.......
