Ornamental roof sheet metalwork
Hey all,
I've been trying for some time to find someone interested in helping me produce about 10 scroll finials and about 50 castellations (boxes) to restore the original gable ridges of my old gal federation roof.
I've tried a couple of sheetmetal and roofing places but no one is interested as there is a lot of mucking around to solder these up and given I am hopeless at doing anything metal (prefer wood, sorry) these are way past my DIY skills.
Does anyone know someone who could knock these up around Geelong/Melbourne??
I have samples to copy and happy to provide all materials, and pay labour or whatever is easier.
Merry Christmas to all
Haydn

There is a place in Syney that does ornamental roof plumbing work. I can't remember the name, as it was quite a few years back when I needed the same items for a reno I was doing. One tip...... when I was searching for the company, I rang the Sydney Building Information Centre, and asked the question. I beleive I got the cantact that way.
You may have a similar service in Melbourne. There must be someone in Melbourne that specialises in that sort of work.
Good luck.

Thanks Fossil- I'll give them a call. Great to hear I'm not the only one restoring an old roof!
Warm Regards

Was in Schots Home Emporium in Clifton Hill last week, they had a pamphlet for a company that did all the detail roof iron work, did not take much notice of it at the time though.
May be worth a try if your having no luck elsewhere.
Regards Dave.
