Thread: Oxygen / Acetylene rental

I've been using Oxy/LPG with my Comet 3 kit for >20 years. But I don't use it for welding - for heating, brazing and cutting. Fine for my cutting needs - I have cut 350 x 100 500kg/m RSJs but my usual need is to cut plate, RHS sections, pipes or beams and rarely more than 20mm thick usually 10-12mm or less. Acetylene bottle rental for my occasional use just wasn't worth it and then I ran out at a very awkward time some years ago and jumped to LPG - keeping a spare 9kg bottle around or 'borrowing from a BBQ' is much more convenient for me. Some jobs would be useful to have acetylene, but in my case few - and I have mates who I can bot off if I really need it. I have stick and MIG too though for welding.

Just won a used but excellent looking Comet 3 set off eBay for under $120 ($20 postage), did I mention that I also scored a practically new cutting attachment with tip for $25 posted off Sydney gumtree?

Also scored a bunch of unknown (320gb, 250gb, 200gb, 40gb) HDD's off oztion for $26 posted, I wont even bother testing them. Will easily make my money back along with enough for some beer if I throw them on eBay in 'as is' condition
