I had some old regulators fixed up and new hoses fitted for about $40 from this mob here in Sydney. AMPS. 02 9892 2211.32 Carrington Rd Guildford.

Called Supagas today for some pricing, better than BOC and free delivery.

For D sized Oxygen
$38.99 For the gas
$12.10 month rental

For D Sized Acetylene
$61 for the gas
$12.10 month rental

For E sized Oxygen
$61.51 for gas
$13.20 month rental

For E sized Acetylene
$148 for the gas
$13.20 month rental

1 year for D = $390
1 year for E = $525

What do you mean by 1 year for D and E?
Do they give you unlimited refills for 1 year and you still rent the bottles per month? Acetylene or Oxygen?

The 1 year number is for 12 months rental + gas. Obviously if you don't use all of your gas then you only pay the bottle rental cost until you either pay for a refill or decide to give them back. Unlimited refills, I wish

Not in queensland by the looks of it, only SA, vic and tas.

The oxy thing is a real pain, one of the handiest of tools.

Delta has added the gas in as well, so for rental per year for 2 E bottles is about $320

Right, going blind as well as stupid with age...thank you for the correction.

I don't know about Oxygen and Acetylene but I enquired with BOC last year regarding renting a D size bottle of MigGas. They informed me the smallest they would rent was E size.

Correct, that what it will cost you minimum for 1 year to have both bottles.

Looking at my bill for me G size oxygen and Argon rental is $165/year each...amusingly I have a G size acetylene (there is a story behind the G Acetylene bottle) they don't charge me rent on...I would say they don't know I have it, pity I just emptied it....LOL

AAh DUH on my part. I didn't bother doing the maths, just looked at the final figure. Probably because I don't buy gas that often but have to pay the rental every year.
