what are these please?(boring)
hi every one. Ive had these for a while i thought the were
for use with a boring head on the mill.
They came with a threaded piece of round bar.
there are diff angled cutting pieces ie 55 deg
60deg and square.there marked 4b 2b and komet.
i think the 2b marking indicates size.
can some one please tell me what there use
is and how handy they may be.
thanks aaron

Some of them appear to have tips ground for threading purposes, doing that on a boring head would be difficult though. The set of tips for the boring bars might have been a generic set for lathe and mill work perhaps?

Depending on the bar size I'd like to buy them from you. (I need 10mm)
Komet made a lot of those bar ends...I was wondered why they were trying to save on bar when it is trivial.

8mm 10mm and others
hi Scotty and Greg
Some of them do look like they have been made for thread cutting. I tried one for cutting a internal thread but it was too big for the clearances where not right.
Greg you must know what there for. There is some that are 10mm a finer thread than 1.5mm pitch.
