For something that is being kept indoors, is zinc undercoating required for something made of mild steel and has been sand blastered? I get mixed responses from people - some say it looks the same some say it looks smoother with the undercoat as sand blastered products are rough/etched appearance. The other thing I get told is zinc undercoat is recommended to prevent rust even if its indoors whereas others have said it is not necessary. This is for something that is not going into bathroom/laundry/wet area
