Power file/finger file/?
I can't use a file anymore due to PMR in my arms so I'm after a power file (having trouble using my lathe as well). I used these 40 odd years ago when in the industry, they have a small linisher belt about 12mm wide. Makita do make one with a 25mm wide belt but I can't find any others except for a brand I've never heard of from England via ebay. It appears the only hardwares that stock such an item stock the Makita brand only and I won't Makita again. Is anybody aware of any other brands available. I'm lost without a file!

Black and Decker make a 13 belt.
Billy Guyatts sell them!
(though I am sure there are other places it just was on the first page and surprised me)

Thanks
Thanks gents. I have air power but I'm afraid the compressor noise would put me off - not to mention the neighbours. I was aware of the B&D, but I went everywhere this morning: Bunnings, Mitre10, Home, couldn't find any. May have to be ebay I think. And to think our sellers complain about everyone buying from ebay, the mind bogles. Interestingly Bunnings sell the belts but no power files, could be worse I suppose, they could sell the power file but no belts for it.

Metabo make a very nice (and expensive) one, but I would buy the Makita if I needed one.

So not knowing location :
If I remember Aldi had some a few weeks back, I assume it was Workzone, our local store still had some a week back.
Here it is http://offers.kd2.org/en/au/aldi/pJMj/

Not here
No, not Aldi here yet, shame would have suited me - particularly at that price. I have an Aldi circular saw which is a little ripper, but It seems that Guyatts is the only other stockist in Australia, around $140 including postage. Might have to test Bunnings and see if they can get a Ryobi power file for me.
I used to have a bin full of burnt out Makita tools - not for me!

As we don't have an Aldi here, and you can't find anything else, maybe a member here could get one and post it to you. Do Aldi post out items????

If you have an air compressor you can get a pneumatic one pretty cheaply. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10mmX330m...item3f3126790c

I have a German one but I can't find the web address at the moment. Its a "Walters" comes with 30 belts of different sizes and grits. It has support arms for 8, 13, and 18 mm belts. I've had mine for about a year and it cost me £29.95 UK pounds about $45 AU. I bought mine via Evilbay. came post free.
Best Regards:
BaronJ.
