Spoilt for choice - not!
Thanks droog but not necessary I'll find one somewhere, either that or teach the wife the art of filing (yeah, that'll happen - it's dirty, I don't like it!).
Jack620. I'm not particularly hard on power tools, I've had most of my power tools for over 5-6 years, some for over 20-30 years (Bosch, Hitachi, etc), Makita are the only ones I've managed to destroy, all 240v models, drills, grinders, etc. I have a couple of cheap $40 items that outlasted the Makitas, Makita just doesn't like me! At one time I had four 100/115mm angle grinders I bought or received as gifts around the same time: Hitachi, Makita, Bosch and a cheap $40 one, the Hitachi and the cheapy are all I have left. The Bosch lasted a few years but the Makita only lasted a few months and was replaced under warranty only to burn out again... Amazing how many tools you get as presents, most of them rubbish but some seem to last.
Unfortunately not spoilt for choice when it comes to power files: Metabo for astronomical $, Makita for $529, B&D for $140, Ryobi for around $100,. or a Silverline from England at $95, that's it!

Hello sacc51,
Just an update to my last post I said that mine was German, it's not, it is actually Austrian.
Anyway here is the details that will enable you to find the web site and hopefully other details.

Apparently I've had mine a little longer than I remembered ! over three years...Best Regards:

Hi sacc51
How do you feel about knocking one up yourself. You have a lathe you said. Its not a big deal to turn up a couple of wheels, a driver drum and a smaller idler wheel.
If so,i don't have a plan but have seen one based on a Makita 4' A/grinder (edit -it was a Makita pistol drill) on a U tube video. One small difficulty is that the U tube is in the Russian language but the picture is worth thousands of words. Once you see the video its straight forward tomake the connector pieces out of some sheet metal and RHS box section.
If you are keen on it, I'll hunt it up and come back with a link for you.
( Edit - found it-look at the 35 minute mark) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IxuBnRECb8
Also I happen to have a PA Portagrind attachment which I bought in a sale years ago that attaches to an angle grinder. I am more than happy to photograph it and take dimensions of drums etc.
They are no longer made but here's the directions for it

Angle grinder attachment.
Milwaukee or Metabo have one that looks like an addition to an angle grinder, that was my first thought to make one similar; unfortunately, I don't have full use of my arms and hands at this time and can only use them for an hour or so each day hence my interest in a tool with a smaller handle and lighter weight. Have to use my time wisely for now, thanks for the suggestion though.

Hey mate have you thought about finding a filing machine? I have one see below. Was always told they were a wank as you needed special files but this one takes standard files. It was nearly new cond when I got it and I wanted it as it had adjustable stroke and speed and thought I could make a small engine hone from it. Never did and just parked it in a garden shed sadly the rust got her and the chrome on the stoke handle. But I used it a couple of times and they are awesome for filing anything that will fit the table.

I have a filing machine also. Over here they sell cheap, because no-one wants them. I payed 60 euro for mine (a little rusty and in need of new belts, otherwise fine). If these are to big for you, there are also table-top versions, but they can't take as big a workpiece of course. There are even kits available to build one driven by a lathe!
