    Default Pry bars

    hey guys,

do you prefer the sidchrome or kincrome prybars?

what would be the best for a fitter machinist apprentice?

    thanks everyone

I haven't used either of those brands before. I have used Dawn pry bars and they are quite good. Look for a steel backing, so you can strike the end with a hammer without the plastic handle breaking off.

I would pick the sidchrome over kincrome though.

I used KC Tools prybars when I was diesel fitting and couldn't fault them. Can't speak for the others, but I imagine Sidcrome should be OK.

those pry bars in the set look pretty flash. didn't have anything like that when I was on the tools. I have an Evero brand pinch bar (pry bar) about 500mm long which is great,
similar to this Catalogue. if that was too big, it was "use a screwdriver."
Another tool that was invaluble for aligning flanges etc is a good quality, steel, marlin spike. Mine is about 180-200mm long and about 15-20mm dia at the largest dia.

Mumme do some smaller ones, not as flash looking as some those others listed, but they are made in Australia, and as it turns out usually around the same price as the imported equivalent.
