Good one Forge, thats something that will test my accuracy skills. I am one of the unfortunate that has to mess around with shim's, but it does not stop me from having a play now and them!...

Thanks Forge. I too hate stuffing around with shims. This is a project that I have wanted to start but the dovetails were an obstacle for me. Now there's no excuse, 4 hours and I can throw the shims away. Thanks again.

Thank's ,Savage & Tiger . Its good to see some one finding posted things usefull.I got some lathe @ mill instructional dvd's recently from > http://www.homestead.com/tool20895/VideoPrices.html
I found them verry usefull.I have been trying to learn for years (i'm a bit slow)
have heaps of hsm books& mags. but these dvd's were just the ticket.
I'm going to get some more. One of the dvd's shows how to make mating dovetails. And he uses quite cheap equipment .Don't let anyone tell you it can'tbe done.
