The tools for cheap holders may be twice the price of Fanks but they are at least twice as good....There is a pic comparison here https://www.woodworkforums.com/f65/yo...ml#post1652568

I prefer a tool free post although if you are scaling up there might then be room for a lever & knob arrangement.

Apparently. His name just keeps cropping up all over the net when researching QCTP info. I have seen his design numerous times but was put off by the reverse nature of his dovetails, and the small contact surface area for the wedge lock. Whether these are really an issue could decide if I go with this design. Anything could happen in the meantime tho. I have found pictures in the last couple of days that show me how the commercial wedge type designs work. One of the Aloris methods utilises a screw thread to operate the wedges. Another uses a cam. Stuff to think about.

Looks nice as you have said. However, the important thing is how it functions. At that price it could be a bit hit and miss - you may have to strip and fix up some parts as the quality you expect may or may not be there. (This is the underlying problem with all of these cheap imports - the consistency is lacking, so sometimes you may get a good unit and sometimes a pig).

Quality looks good Peter. I'll see if I can take a few more photos tonight. It has been on the shelve for the last few months and I havent installed it left alone testing it out

I'll unbox and take some more photos when I get home tonight if you want to see?
