Anyone recognise this adjustable Chuck
Hi All,
I brought this adjustable chuck along with the Zeatz Dividing head and the Meca rotary table a little while ago. I checked the chucks run out at the time and it had .004". I could not move any of the adjusting screws they were done up super tight,so I put it aside. I have just pulled it apart, had to use a big hammer drill to undo the three adjusting screws. It is a well built chuck but has seen some abuse as you can. After a good clean and oil I studied it to work out how the adjusting mechanism worked and put it back together. I set it up on my mill table and chucked up a ground 12mm piece of bar and had it holding .01mm run out in a couple of minutes. The chuck has no brand on it anywhere, can anyone recognise it from the pictures and the adjusting mechanism.

Hi Bob,
It's the same as my Pratt burnerd that I posted about in that same thread. Was the back of the chuck dowelled like mine?

Looks like a Pratt Burnerd.
The older ones had a little disc with the brand in the counterbore on the face of the chuck.

Thanks to Ueee and Clubman 7 for your reply's and identifying my chuck. Ueee mine does not have dowels in it. When I finally got it apart I thought it looked like your one but I could not find your original post to check it.Clubman 7. My chuck has the recess in the chuck face where the brand name would have been, but it is long gone. I do not think it is a good idea placing name badges in chuck faces, I had one come adrift in my 6" chuck hit the roof with quite a bang. Glue and oil not a good combination.

Thanks for your reply, it is a well made chuck everything fits nice and snug. It has been beat up a bit on the outside.
