Thanks Michael, for unravelling the confusion... 72:1 is a lot more useful

Looks nice and solid, what's the diameter? I might have been tempted to call it a dividing head

Yes, it's a strange looking beast - it has the features you'd expect to see on both.

its a 6 inch an when i reassemble it today ill take some more pics, the paint or baked enamel looks like a quality type machine but some of the rest of it seems a bit more of maybe indian origin, chunky type graduations, and the bottom is only covered in by a galvanized shield not sealed
There is a couple of features i haven't worked out yet the collar around the spindle shaft between the indexing plate housing and the main body has 2 different positions but for the life of me i cant see what it does, the indexing plate is 2 sided which i guess is good saves misplacing one when not in use and also its almost covered in except for a small window to access the holes
but more when i get it put back together today
i wonder if the mt 3 adapter is meant to come out
    till later john

    Hi John,
Does the collar have a 0 graduation and maybe a vernier? It might just be for using the table without plates. Then you're able to move the 0 so its easy to see whether the table is vertical or horizontal.

I have the same one John, the two position collar is to engage or disengage the worm drive.

well its back together minus a bit of grease replaced with 68 hydraulic oil

the cover over the indexing plate (which is double sided) is graduated from 0 to 150 so i guess that means each turn of the handle is 5 degrees which can be divided up into 150 divisions
ill have to take the rotating collar off again and see what makes it disengage at the moment it doesnt

    Hi John,
Nice purchase - that's a good looking table.
The arrangement of T slots is excellent IMO - very versatile for securing a variety of workpieces and chucks.
My Vertex turned out to have only three radial slots, and it is rather inconvenient at times with different workpieces, or a 4 jaw chuck which could otherwise be mounted without a backing plate.
    Cheers,
    Bill

Well done John. Looks like a nice purchase! I have to concur with you Bill, I too have a vertex with three slots. So far it has not restricted my use but it has added some challenges with some jobs. A 4 slot pattern would have offered more flexibility.

Girl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.
