Yeah, my Aus parcel guy said to me the other day, I haven't seen you for a while, I said I haven't been buying anything lately. Over christmas he was here just about everyday, at least we keep them employed.
One T nut, I could tell you had been working hard by the sweat dripping off the last message, lol

Well I now have two T nuts. I feel like I have a T nut fetish.
I found a use for my rotary table, now I have two T nuts I can machine the radius on the end of the next lot of T nuts lol. If I had still more T nuts it would make set up a whole lot easier.

Found aproblem with the X axis scale for the DRO. I have to mount the rotary table on the front slot or the hand wheel hits the angle iron. No big deal really, if it worries me I'll put it on a plate.

I your table a 250mm one? Or is your table really wide?
I checked my 250mm table on the mill and I have plenty of room, even using the slot off center towards the rear (mine has 4 slots).
I measured 175mm from the center of the rotary table slot to the back of the hand wheel.

    Dave,
One wonders if I put the table back together correctly as its the graduated rings that are hitting the table. The hand wheel will be far enough away to clear.
    Another job for the morning.
    Thanks for measuring yours up.

My graduation collar doesn't hit, and has clearance, so it sounds like you might be right.

If there is a way to screw something up, it seems I'll find it.
Lucky I'm not trying to make a living at this lol

Will I finished the T nuts today. No need to tell SWMBO that I blued/blacked them in the kitchen. They are more blue/purple in the flesh.

    Dave,
Can you measure your table for me please. Its a 10inch vertex right?
My graduation collars are 86mm Dia.
The height of the main casting from the table to the face the table runs on is 72mm.
The highest I can get the center of the handle spindle from the table it 41mm

    Thanks

You nuts probably didn't come out real black because you need them red hot, but will still help keep the rust away the way you have done them. Lucky your wife didn't catch you. lol

    Those measurements sound like mine.
How far is it from the centre of the table T slot on your mill to the front edge of the angle ?
I made a mistake in saying my graduation collar missed, it was the brass ring that misses and the graduation collar sits below about 4-5mm. It still gives me room to mount it on the slot off centre to the back though.

I was aiming for a nice blue, but I must say it all happened a lot faster than I thought it would. I didnt think it would get to red, maybe it would have, next time. To get a good blue the surface finish need to be better I think.

I'll go measure the table shortly.

Just taken the adaptor out of the lathe, hope its right
The base is 0.04mm out. Can you imagine that will ever be an issue?
I can turn it around and take a cut off the back bit I think the error must be in the chuck so would need to pack it. In which case I'll need some help with the math.

189mm from center to front of angle. I could likely machine the angle down if needed.

My table is 240mm wide and it is 160mm from the centre T slot to the outside edge of the angle. (I do have a centre slot) I only used 40mm angle on mine.

The 0.02mm will end up more the further out you go.
I was going to do mine on a face plate, the slots won't line up with the mounting holes, so I was going to bolt a plate to it and tap holes to mount the adapter to it.
You could still do this as well.
