Russian Video - copying a ball - wood lathes too ?
Saw this discussed on Hobby Machinist forum - thought it was clever - using the tailstock as a copying jig

I'm not so sure it would be good enough to turn an MT. Though I'm having thoughts along the lines of removing the cross slide screw to allow it to follow the master feed in by say a weight on a string(surely someone has tried that). You'd want to be careful with your tool angles though.
