    Default Rust removal Evapo-Rust

Have just read all about a rust removal product called Evapo-Rust made in the States.

Apparently it really works, and quickly, without any any adverse effects.

Apparently it is available from Precision Specialty Tooling, Preston, Vic for about $16 per litre. I have no affiliation with the above company.

Would like to hear from any members who have tried it out. Supposed to be better than molaces, white vinegar, phosphoric acid or electolysis.

Let's have your comments, maybe you have an even better method.

    Ken

All the usual, no affiliation with the company.

Recently used K&H brand rust converter/primer on my trailer. Spray painted hammertone straight over the top. No issues so far. $20 a litre. Trailer stays out in the yard so time will tell if it was a good idea or not.

Sorry cant vouch for whether its better than Evapo-Rust, but I recon converting and priming in one pass beats using just using standard rust converter.

    Hi Ken

I have some Evapo-Rust it works as advertised
as you use it the solution gets quite black and sort of stains the part black
when its fresh its comes out quite clean and bright
dont have a part only partly submerged as it will rust quite quickly where its exposed to the air
i have done a lot of electrolysis to remove rust and its probably still my preferred method as a lot of stuff i do is big but the evapo rust is good for small parts and i dont need to set anything up to use it
you can also put the part in a sandwitch bag and fill that up as it uses less solution to cover the part
    hope this helps

    Cheers
    Harty

I think we have been spammed. This Rust rid mob have form for it. There seems to be a few one post wonders floating around resurrecting old threads. This thread is from May 2009. It would have been sitting back 105 pages of 151 total pages @ 17th May 09. How does any one find that on their very first post?

    Other examples here.
