First thought was they were made by the same company that made the Advance Lathe but looks like they aren't.

That is quick work ! Yes that old Advance drill is still there , I took that pic this arvo . It is badly corroded in places , but still restorable . I'd probably get it for ten bucks . Did anyone spot the very old hand grinder on the post , with the tripod feet ?

G'day Mike,
Thats actually an old hand crank clipping or shearing machine, they were used for clipping horses and and even for shearing sheep believe it or not.
It's probably worth grabbing too as you dont see many of them around these days.
Looks like a great scrap yard to have a sticky beak in, thanks for the pics.
Cheers,
Greg.

Thanks for the pic . I didn't see the table for it, but it might be there somewhere . If the table cannot be found, its probably easy enough to make up a table , looks like it might be approx. 10" diam. ? I will call in next week to grab that old drill . I've scrounged some useful stuff there in that scrap yard, it is just amazing when you see the good stuff that people throw away for scrap . What a wasteful society we live in . In a third world country , most of that stuff would be fixed up and put back into service . Mike

I reckon a post drill would make a pretty cool tapping machine.

You are probably lucky in Victoria that you can wander around a scrap yard, here in NSW you are generally stopped by our OH&S B#LL S##T.

Still trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

I know the owner and he doesn't mind me wandering around . People dump all types of mechanical stuff, I found a couple of domestic fire fighting pumps there and rebuilt them . Old mowers and Villiers engines. Quite a few 3 phase motors , but you take your chances with them . Mike
