Scraping. Anyone needing inspiration?
Whilst on my visit to Melbourne last week I had to accompany my daughter on a foray out to Bell's Springs in Thomastown to fetch some Terry clips. It was Phil "Machtool" who suggested Bell's and given that Phil's workshop was virtually just around the corner, Beck and I dropped in.
Phil generously gave Beck a guided tour of the shop. She was impressed and even more so when Phil demonstrated his scraping technique. I asked Phil if he had an example of a scraped machine surface in the shop. Here's what we saw.

Thank you Phil.

Is that off the vertical milling machine that was in the process of being rebuilt when we had the 2011 scraping class?
