If you are seriously wanting to keep settings on mills, cross slides etc from moving out due to vibration, the only way really is a lock screw to push against the gib strip.

Easy to drill, tap, fit and work fantastically.

Just use an Allen bolt with a ball bearing to push on the relevant gib - easy.

Sorry, wrong end of the process Rob -
I do lock the slides when I'm taking an important cut - that's not a problem.
The issue I'm having is with things like the little knurled screws that hold the scales in place on the handles. My machines are not as new as they could be and there is enough free play that they sometimes shake loose. I ruined a piece the other day because the scale was loose and I wound in the final 10 thou but it was actually...

    I'm with you now

I suppose some Loctite low strength thread lock would do the job.

It tends to stay in rubbing areas and act as a sort of friction/stiction film.

Loctite must have something similar specifically for the job, they have most of this sort of stuff.

Default I have several screws loose...

Can you remove the screw and put an o-ring under the head? It will stop the screw from loosening, and lasts forever.
