Default Seeking information for a KIRLOSKAR ENTERPRISE 10 metal lathe

I purchased this lathe a while ago and after a manual to service / work out the thread cutting speeds etc. I hope some one can help, this lathe was built in the late 80's in India.

    Hi Brendan

Thanks for the information, there I thought I would have no chance of finding a manual - fantastic. I purchased the lathe on Ebay about a year ago from someone in Sydney. I had been looking for a while and this was the most robust lathe I thought available for my budget and quality. It is three phase, which I'm going to convert to single phase. I'm still looking or I should say my father is, as I have loaned it to him to set it up and hopefully locate a single phase motor, unless you know where a motor can be sourced? I live in Sydney and my Dad lives near Gympie (Qld).

Why did you sell your lathe, what problems if any did you have with yours?

Problem with mine was it got stuck by lightning and fried all the circuitry. Insurance company gave me a new one and I gave my one to a mate. Otherwise I would still have it.. they are a robust machine for their size. ..good weight and heaps of thread cutting options through the quick change gear box. I'd leave it three phase if I were you. Buy a small vfd and run it off that. Less stuffing around and you can use vfd for speed control and reversing I think...super handy for thread cutting.

it's a fluke I saw your post. I haven't been on this forum for about a year and as soon as I logged on I saw your thread.

    Howdy Howdy, (sorry couldn't resist)
The lathe was on ebay, finishing Monday, but the seller has pulled every single listing he had. About 30 in all, from the 2 lathes (including the VDF i was keen on) cold cut (A startrite like in Techo's thread, hows that for coincidence) bandsaw, big drill, Vicky U2 mill, air compressor, press brake etc.

I went and had a look on Wednesday, the Kiloskar looked like a pretty decent machine, dwarfed of coarse by the 500x1500 3T German beauty in the room.

That's interesting Ewan (and potentially a blessing for my wallet). do you think he got cold feet on the sale or as someone come in via ebay and bought everything as a job lot?

I didn't think you could pull an auction once a bid had been placed?

Default Re Removing eBay listings after bids on item

Over recent years I have had a few items removed on which I placed bids.
Ebay usually puts up a message to the effect: "seller removed the item because it was no longer available", possibly not exact wording.
So it appears a seller can remove a listing anytime before the end time whether or not it had bids.
This info is probably available in eBay's seller's information but I haven't looked recently.
    Regards

Every listing had "Seller has removed this item as there was an error in the listing" or somesuch.
I thought you could only remove one a year or they would charge you the ebay fee for the bid amount at the time you cancelled it.

The funny thing is, now he has cancelled them, i can see that all his items had BIN prices, and some of the items had bids on them higher than the BIN prices. I thought the U2 was a good buy at $1500 (not a bargain but a fair price).

I don't know what the Kiloskar's BIN was as i wasn't watching it. The VDF 48L he wanted 9.5k for, thats a price that would make a dealer jealous IMO.

As he said to me, i like my machines, but i also like money......
