Shaper work 2. The tool holder
SAM_0548.jpgSAM_0546.jpgSAM_0547.jpgSAM_0548.jpg
Here are the pics of 2 tool holders. Pic 2 is of the smaller unit. The cap has a slotted hole so it can adjust to the tool bit size. A ramp on one side and square cut groove on other side to capture tool bit. I run it backwards in the shaper to reduce chatter. That puts the tool behind the centre of pull. I have crashed the bit into a job and stalled the shaper. By accident. No damage to bit or holder. It's an 18" shaper. Only problem so far is in deep slots. The fat holder head makes it hard to get low in the slot. I'm buying some bigger bits next order.
