What small shapers are available in Australia?
Hi All,
I'm just wondering what small shapers were manufactured or brought into Australia for sale? Small for me being 6-7 inch stroke. I'm always on the lookout for a small shaper but I never know what search terms to use. I see Douglas' for sale quite often, and larger machines, but I have no room for one that size.
The only brand I've noticed that was possibly Australian built, in that size, is the 'Austolite'.
Thanks,
Joe

Thanks Mike and Ray. I haven't heard of a Macson shaper so I'll have to see what I can find out about it.
Mike, was it you who bought a small shaper a few months ago? I recall someone did but I don't remember if pictures were ever uploaded. Might be a case of mistaken identity.

Macson Shaper
The Macson was made by McPhersons and I think was a "copy" of an Alba. The Macson I have used in was 18" stroke

Thanks Graeme,
With an 18 inch stroke it looks like the Macson would be far too large for my needs. I'd struggle to fit a 10 inch in at the moment.

Hadn't heard of the Lock shaper either, but I can't find much information on it.
If anyone hears of a 6-7 inch shaper for sale in Melbourne at a decent price, and doesn't want it for themselves, feel free to let me know!
Cheers,
Joe
