    Default shim stock

I am starting to reassemble my atlas shaper but I cannot find most of the shims for the machine does anyone know where I can get brass shim stock at reasonable prices. I need it in 0.002" '0.005" and 0.010" in 0.002" laminated layers.

    Hi Andre,
I hope you mean reassemble and not resemble even though it happens to all of us at some stage.
Brass shim stock can normally be found at bearing shops as well as places like Blackwoods and Thomas Warburton.
Pretty much any engineering supplies will stock it. Even our nuts and bolts place sells it here.
Good news that reassembly has started, won't be long before the short and curlies are flying all over the place

    Hi Andre,
Brass shim is always more expensive than steel shim. Does it need to be brass?

Cheapest brass pack i have seen is here Shim Brass Assortment 6 Sheets X 150mm X 150mm 05mm 25mm Thick Champion | eBay
Steel should be a fair bit less.

    Cheers,
    Ew
