Shimstock
I needed shimstock recently to correct a fit error on one of my machines.
The source I finally tracked down was PPShims at Welcome to PP Shim.
They are located near Narellan, SW from Sydney.
From what I could see when I visited today, they only do shims.
They have rolls everywhere and a layout/cutting bench.
Shims 600 x 300 with complex cutouts were laid on the customer counter.
The pedestal drill was on a pallet 2m up in the air, so they don't use that much.
In the back was a typical moderate sized power punch with racks of punch/die sets.
They will post items if required.
Ring before visiting as they are sometimes away for short periods.
I purchased a pack of mixed brass, $37 for 150 x 150 mm size 2 x 0.05, 2 x 0.08, 1 x 0.12 and 1 x 0.25 thickness.
They showed me a coil of 320 x 0.020 mm stock in stainless steel.
I didn't enquire about the price, I figure if I need it, any price is OK.
I have no affiliation with them other than as a satisfied cutomer.
John.

Thank you for that John.
I've been nibbling away at my collection of brass shim over the years and I need some new stuff. Now I know where to get it.

Aluminium drink cans make a cheap and available shim stock in a pinch...about .25mm if I correctly remember the last one I measured!
