+1 No dishwasher, got some clowns tho... does that count.

New years resolution was to replace compressed air clean down with brush and vacuum, much better, now I don't find swarf in every nook and cranny...

+1/2 I've had a dishwasher for about 18 months now but it empties into a bucket. Does that count?

Here is a picture of my shop vac. I it put together one afternoon out of bits and pieces I had laying around. The trickiest part was melting the bottom of the top bucket to fit the top of the cyclonic separator. I'd always thought I'd never post a picture of it. Works great it should be a year or two between empties. I can suck up whatever I like as the motor cooling air is separate. But it sure is ugly lol

    Hi Stuart,

Nice, I'm in line after Bryan.... I like the Duct Tape Vacuum Adaptor, you can just see it in the right hand side .

    A work of art.

PS: I want one too. And how the hell do you get Youtube embedded videos to actually work....

What are you trying to say J&H? lol

Duct tape fixes most thing lol. I had planned on using a pool vacuum hose but when I connect it it sounds like an air raid siren(So loud in fact I wouldn't have believe it.) I particularly like the handles that lock the vac into the bucket(which happens to be a slip fit anyway). The handle that was on there just clipped on so I just added another handle. The rest is a wheelie bun axle as I'm sure you've guessed, half a transformer case. the handle of a 50A battery charger and some mounting rail from inside a traffic light control box.(yes I have to much "stuff" in my shed, stuff is not the word the boss would use but she puts up with a lot)

Sorry guys, I'm all out of cyclonic separators(although making them isn't really that hard). I did see one guy that ran the vacuum hose through the top of a 20 liter bucket. The air slows down in the "bigger pipe" and most of the heavy stuff falls to the bottom. Might not work to well for the wood workers amongst us but should be "ok" for steel.
