A while back, in a show and tell, I included some photos of a drilling attachment that fits the standard vertical head of a Schaublin 13 mill. I offered to produce a drawing of the attachments components for Phillip "Metalman" who thought that it may be a useful, and simple to make, accessory for his similar mill. Attached is a drawing of most of those components.

The design could be modified to suit other machines with a hollow spindle, such as the little Hercus No.0.

Obviously missing from the drawing, if compared to the photos previously published, are the linkage connecting the lever to the end cap casting and the pivoting thrust assembly. The later requires some careful disection to reveal its workings and both will be the subject of another drawing.

What is not revealed in either the drawing or the photos is the perfection of fit acheived by the Swiss makers.

Phillip, an A1 drawing is in tonights mail.
