Default Where to site lathe coolant delivery?

    Hi guys
I am soon to rig up my lathe coolant pump in its stainless tank to my Steelmaster 12x36A .That bit is pretty straight forward. The power source is 240 volt for the 1/8th HP motor.I am happy about its quality, as it is from Taiwan not that other big place to the left. The delivery point at the other end is a concern.

I am using a 1/4" Loc line and and a ball valve to meter the flow.I intend to place a switch in the power line as there's times you don't want coolant.
I am wondering where is the optimum place to site the mount. I am not too keen on a mag base at it will attract ferritic swarf like flies to ....well you know!!!

That means a fixed base then. Where then, front of the cross slide , rear of the cross slide ?

Without being too rude, where do my learned colleagues suggest I place it for best effect?

For the power they are usually next to your other controls on the lathe front panel. You may even have a spot for it as this is where the factory fit it.
I have my coolant nozzle at the rear left of the cross slide.

Most mounting positions I've seen for lathe coolant pipes/ hoses seem to be at the rear of the cross slide on the tailstock side - I guess as that's the place where it least interferes with operations.
As for the switch in the line, as coolant goes whiffy when not aerated would a better idea be to put a bypass valve in? - the coolant will run whenever it is plugged in but if the bypass is open will not appear at the spout. Flow control would be by fractional closing of the valve.

I agree most I have seen come on the tailstock side, I found the coolant nozzle wouldn't reach and also got it the way of the tailstock hand wheel when spun around to do angle cuts. I changed it to the chuck side and when I made my new light I set it back as well so it wouldn't interfere with the tail stock.
