    Default Sorry

Sorry I couldn’t stay with you longer, but I’ve achieved what I set out to do – again. Thank you all for amusing me yet again, that’s right - again. I’ve been dropping subtle hits for ages but none of the half nut club, or anybody else for that matter, cottoned on. But you know what they say ‘up here for thinking, ???’. Be taking the mickey out of you all again – soon.

    Whatcha reckon?

99% of folks who say "bye" under somewhat sour circumstances, have not really said bye and just have to return to their departure thread and see what other people are saying about them.

Totally normal reaction of course , humans being social animals as they say.

How much work do you want the forum owners to go to in order to prevent it?

Hint - I can fake pretty much any location I want, if I want to - which I don't. However I have *at least* 5 different IP address I routinely use due to travel, wifi net access etc etc. That's without using a VPN to tunnel to an overseas site.....

In my opinion the main reason people do this kind of thing is because of the anonymity that the internet affords them, its a powerful position that can and is abused by certain type of people, a power play if you will, the need to feel a certain amount of control over the world. An anonymous attack carries no shame, guilt maybe, but you can't exactly punch the person in the face. On this forum and I can't think of any other it is largely mitigated by the personal friendships and mutual respect that have formed over the years. We all like making things and to me it seems a pity for petty people to try and destroy. Who will take you seriously now?

I don't think it's a reflection on the rest of the members at all.

I don't even think twice about these sort of pathetic actions.

If they want to act like a loon, that's up to them.

I just feel sorry for the next new member who comes along, and we don't greet them as maybe we once might have for fear of it being the same clown again. I was the first to reply when allessandro posted the first time, I felt like a right idiot when it came out as to who he was. I'm not about to do that again if I can avoid it....

I'm sure he'll be back, trolls are driven by some kind of psychosis that feeds on being despised by everyone.
They love to be noticed, and that somehow makes up for whatever is missing in their personal lives. The choice of Bob Downe as his alter ego is interesting?

It would be impossible to keep the site as it is and never get any trolls. Most of you here would be amazed at the number that are screened out and never even get a chance to post , and for the ones that slip through you just have to wait till they stick their head up then if gets lopped off.

But now is a good time to give the Mods here another pat on the back, thanks people for keeping this a good place to visit
