Hmmm - Antique?? - Dont think so. lol. Mind you, he's done a nice job turning it by hand. Assuming "hand lathed" means its been done without a machine.

Having spent a decade and a half shooting with black powder toys of all sorts, I am not fussed on it
Other than to say is is of good workmanship it is really not something I would desire to own .Its simply just a the representation of someone's idea of a naval cannon.
Its not antique for sure but further than that doesn't even come close to looking the part.

For those into such things cannons are not made from stainless.-Sacrilege!!!
It has no touch hole, so it can't be fired, otherwise it would require licensing under the firearms act.

A $250 stainless and timber knick knack maybe, but not a cannon.

I know its far too late for talk like a pirate day but he should be keelhauled or made to walk the plank! Arrrghh, scurvy dog.

Yep -up to 120cm they call em miniature cannon

My mate, many years ago built on one 60mm long 3mm bore - brass on a wooden carriage.It was a bit more powerful than he thought as it shot the matchstick he loaded it with - clean through her indoors kitchen fly screen.

What if they're over 120cm - I assume this is LOA not bore....?

I have 6 cannon in cast iron lying about my properties, scaled off of a British 1805 6 pounder and a 12 pound Napoleon field gun - half actual size. Perhaps I'd better not bore & sleeve them......

The law is idiotic anyway, I know of period vessels with working m/l cannon aboard and I *know* they don't have them registered or licensed.

Historicals aside...that cannon, if as good as the photos show is a lovely piece of art. Put together with fine eye for good lines.
I would call it decor art with a period theme.
