    Default Steel Suppliers Brisbane

    Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me the best place to buy short lengths of steel - maybe somewhere that deals with off cuts or even second hand.
    I'm after about 500mm of 100x5 flatbar and about 1000mm of 65 or 80 x 4mm pipe.
I'm in Caboolture so ideally somewhere on the north side.
    Cheers
    Paul

    HI PAUL
A B Steel Supplies at Caboolture [open sat's] or Metro Steel at Deception Bay [mon to fri] I have bought cut steel from both, you could have a look at the Trash and Treasure at the Tip, open fri to sun in the mornings.

If those places that are closer to you can't help, Bits of Steel at Geebung do just what you want. Pays to get prices around and compare but I've had good dealings with them. They cut "free" so factor that in to prices

    Whitey,
Which tip has the trash & treasure - I know there's a tip near the Caboolture airstrip, and another one near Bribie.
    Cheers

Caboolture tip I haven't been there for 2 years but the T&T should still be there.
Dakabin tip in Old Gympie Road is were i haunt, 8-30 am Friday mornings you get the bargains but the steel is a slow mover so any time for that stuff.
Their pipe is mostly Gal and the flat you will be lucky to find, sometimes it better to by it cut from a steel merchant at least its clean, rust free and ready to weld.
I picked up a Drill Press from Dakabin T&T for $200 [Retails for $2800] I have spent $350 on it so far, I will post photo's when finished.
I think Bribie would be to small for a T&T.
