Default Total amateur - pendant from metal scrap - assistance begged haha

Planning to make a pendant in the shape of a pentacle (hollow 5 point star) from a piece of scrap cast iron, have no access to proper machinery and would deeply appreciate advice on how to go about this using handtools. I can make the basic shape with a file but I'm stumped as to how to remove the inside parts. Thank you for your time and advice

Or use a fretsaw with a metal cutting blade.

If you going to buy a saw and intend to make more jewellry, can I suggest a jewelers saw.

    Relatively cheap

Jewelers Saw Frames & Blades | Jewellery Tools

and will do a far better job.

Thanks for this Grahame ! I've just ordered some saw blades from them. Much cheaper than here in the UK. Lets see what they are like when they turn up.
