Taps and supplier
Can I get a recommendation please on suppliers for a 1/4 20 and 5/16 18 UNC taps.
I have seen both the Mcjing and H and F offerings and not sure of the quality of these.
They are for a woodwork bench build where the plan calls for threading a number of blind holes in hardwood instead of using threaded inserts
This is is a one off job but have wasted enough on cheap items

Pretty sure I have both Paul. Happy to lend 'em.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

That would be cool as I have just looked at the Goliath website. I am sure that are a good tool for the money if you have ongoing use for them

PM me an address and I'll get them in the mail. Probably Monday now as I won't have the car till after 4:00. I found a 1/2" as well so I'll put that in too.
I just had a look at the Goliath site. I have both RH and LH taps for my lathe spindle thread, 1" x 10, and they would be over $400 if I bought them new. Pretty sure I paid about $50 for both (second hand off ebay)
Do you want me to drop the pattern bit in as well? Those were the droids I was looking for.
