Yesterday I found Woodwork Forums after doing a google search on welding thin wall metal pipe.I was somewhat surprised to find the metalworking forum, but after a bit of a browse found enough information to finish the job I had started.I have cut the rear end of a Chinese electric work bike, and welded on the rear wheel and suspension of a mountain bike. When finished the bike will have the original hub motor mounted amidships,so that it can drive through the mountain bike gears.[the original bike only had one speed]
In attempting to use my Repco handyman welder,I had blown holes all over the place, but after following instructions found on your site I was able to finish the job.It is definitely not pretty, but seems strong enough do do the job.
Without your helpful forum I would have given up trying and had to take the job to a welding shop.
Many thanks again for a fantastic site.
