I'd like a look at the rotary latch. Is there a chance you could post or send me a copy? I have been thinking about buying some of Guy's books. I always assumed they were more for pro machinists and not beginners?

The latch referred to is in TMBR vol 1. The description runs to around 3 pages, but here is the first page with a picture. I won't send you the drawings because I think the books are an excellent read and worth buying. Believe it or not Guy helped me out with finding a bit of hard to get hold of kit too, so I'm not going to take a sale away from him.

The books themselves are filled with all sorts of stuff - hints from him and other readers, fictional stories with technical stuff in them, methods to do various things (and not to do things), projects of various sorts. The same volume that has the latch in it has (as a random selection) "How to make a floating arm knurling tool", "Designing and making split cotters", "A drill sharpening jig for drills from 1/8" to #60", "Re-babbitting machine bearings" and more.
