Bearing ID ?
Hi
I went to a clearing sale yesterday. I bought a milk crate with a mixture of new and used bearings in it for ten bucks .
I need to find out the applications of these bearings
TIMKEN 482 , these are large tapered roller cones , don't have the cups sadly .These are new in boxes .
and SKF 31308 J2/ QCL7C , these are complete tapered rollers new in the packet marked made in Germany .
The sale was amazing . A large tool wall board and bench with a English 4" vice on it sold for $5 .
I bought a box of a thousand teck/roofing screws for $12
The HAFCO round column Mill drill went for $700, a HM 45 I think . I bid on an old metal drop saw , it had about a 8" blade with 1/8" wide teeth like a milling cutter , it had a strong gearbox , single phase motor, built like a tank, it sold for $70 , not to me .

Not sure about application for either yet, but will do a bit of searching. If you consider selling any of the SKF 31308 J2/ QCL7C then let me know how much you want for them.

The SKF seem to be for pinion applications. They are available as pairs in SKF 31308 J2/ QCL7CDF.

Ok
That sounds feasable . The clearance sale was a truck accessory business , gone broke I think . The Timken 482's may be truck wheel bearings .
They also had a large pan brake folder and a huge guillotine , both sold for big bucks . They manufactured truck accessories like rear axle wheel mudguards and cab steps . There was a punch machine too . The advertised lathe was sold before the auction, I didnt see it. Various lots of metal stock and shelving and brownbuilt lockers , all went very cheap for a few bucks . A crappy chinese sheet hand roller went for $400 , too much . You have to resist the temptation at these sales, its easy to fill up a trailer with stuff

Probably are. Try the 482/472 listing here.
