    Default Tin cry?

Does anyone happen to know a grade of brazing rod that demonstrates tin cry...just when I wanted to show someone what was meant by tin cry, the piece I had that demonstrated it really well has hidden itself!

No, not looking for tin plate, thanks - I'm looking for a pure tin rod or a high tin alloy that makes the noise known as tin cry when bent (unmistakeable sound of the crystal lattice being rearranged!)

You might have to go around the local charity Op Shops - what you are talking about is pewter without any antinomy. Unfortunately most modern makers are putting antinomy in their pewter to stop 'cri' - the last manufacturer who used tin/copper pewter I know of was John Somers, and I haven't seen any of his product outside a second hand shop for about 10 years now - he had re-located to Brazil way back in the 1970's from the UK, I have no idea what happened to him - retired, gone bust?
