    Default Arboga EM825 Mill Drill

I have just purchased one of these mills, could anybody tell me the maximum hole size for the drill press and if the drill bit happened to jam would it strip the fibre gears in the gearbox straight away. Also how often do i oil the oiling points.
If anybody has any information at all on these machines ie performance, specs, operations manuals it would be greatly appreciated.

    Default Me too

Hi Rob, welcome to the forum. I also have an Arboga EM825, but can't advise on the largest drill size. Just guessing, I'd say 25mm dia.

My unit is still in storage waiting on a home workshop. I don't have 3 phase here so purchased a special VFD to power it from a single phase outlet. The VFD inputs 240VAC single phase and outputs 415VAC three phase. Is your's fitted with a 3 phase or single phase motor?

What sort of tooling came with your mill? I was lucky to get a range of Clarkson collets and chuck with mine and added an ER32 collet chuck and collets. The collet chuck has to be modified with a slot both sides in the stem so it can be held in the chuck, as is the Clarkson.

I got a photocopy of the manual from Tony"s web site. A bit expensive but could not find another source.

    How about some photos?

A search on this forum for Arboga EM825 will turn up several results.

    Hi Robert

I believe the gears are a mixture of tufnol and steel, used I think to help quieten the gear train, straight cut gears can be quite noisy. A great machine even if they do have a round column, in my opinion light years ahead of any Asian round column mill/drill.

    Default Arboga EM825 details

Rob, for your benefit, and maybe others, I sketched up a few details that might come in handy down the road.

    Hi Ken,
Thanks for your kind welcome, the only tooling i received with the mill was an ER32 collet chuck and collets. The chuck has been modified to suit with slots. My mill is also fitted with a 3 phase 415v motor (2 speed). I have tried the mill already it seems like a nice little machine.

When i get a chance i will send you some photos.
    Cheers Robert-1
