Na no 5331 sorry. It that a silicone sealant or a PTFE type? I have all sorts of silicones and flange sealants here that may be suitable but no teflon stuff.
The bulk of that is gone now anyway, all my mates who have visited since have walked out with a showbag and a big smile on their face...

Not sure. 5331 is what's recommended for ABS and PVC pipe threads. I have been known to use Loctite Blue Maxx on fittings I probably never want to disassemble but I think that's only one step removed from using Sikaflex 291 - that's what you use on plastic pipe threads when you're about to sell something to someone you really dislike.....
I'll wander past Blackwoods and see if they have any in stock. The jobs that need it have just moved off of their 'stalled' status on the critical path due to the sand blasting of the metal bits being finally complete so the need is getting more imminent.
I use welded metal flange fittings in the hull to bolted metal fittings with a 316 ball valve then all PVC or ABS pipe & fittings inboard of the valve in order to minimise corrosion opportunities. This way if the fitting ever packs it in I can cut off the bolts holding the bits together and replace the entire fitting inboard of the hull. I've seen plenty of people weld 316 pipe toes into their hull and screw a valve onto it. That works fine 95% of the time but if the valve ever seizes itself onto the threaded pipe end and you need to get it off, good luck.
A lot of fittings also need to be 'timed' so the valve handle ends up in a particular spot. This is a bit hit or miss using teflon tape in my experience. PTFE type thread sealant (or Blue Maxx etc) are a bit more forgiving WRT tightness. I use a fair bit of Loctite 567.

Picked up a GMF 8 inch bench grinder, hardly any use, wheels near new. Tool rests are missing as well as 1 safety shield.
Slight vibration, needs balancing, change from $50.
Also picked up a Stuart tap wrench from a council tip shop, it's a bit larger than an Eclipse 143. $2

Gotta love the council tip shop... Wasn't today but I picked up Connelly's Machine Tool Reconditioning for $5 at my local one.

Nice score on the grinder John, was that the one on Gumtree?
This turned up in the mail this morning, a 0-1/2 M&W mic. For no other reason than i wanted it and it compliments my other imp M&W gear.

Yeah I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Checked the other books very thoroughly but couldn't find anything of interest. Some people say it's very dry but I find it to be one of my favourite books. Haven't seen anything like it since out there. I do wonder where/who it came from originally.

Hi Ewan,
I nearly made you pay more for that...so cute (am I allowed to call tools cute?lol
I bought me a M&W 400/9" engineers square. Its not real pretty but I spent just a little less on lunch today so I'm not worried about it. The other side is even worse but the measuring surfaces are all pretty good. Might have to get me some evaporust.
Hey jimebgo, I'll give you $15 for it amazing find.

Hi Bruce,
It was on Aussie eBay, I think I got it for $20.50 plus post. The seller also had a 916 but I have 3 already.

Harder Look
Thanks Ewan & Andre
I think I will have to look a bit harder locally, that is, in Australia.
Those small 0" to 1/2" micrometers would be very handy.

Ewan
Yes it was on Gumtree @ Wentworth Falls, quite surprised he still had it, seeing it was advertised on the 16 Jan.
