It tawsnt* me. I was only going to push it to $3k anyway. I watched it tick down. In was on the phone to Q.C in WA. We were plotting and scheming.
Only found out today, that was a repaint. And its marginallly smaller than the grinder I allready have.
Regards Phil.
*tawsnt being a word I'm introducing to the language to indicate, it wasn't me.

Well it was not me either.
But I just bought this:

Not exactly a bargain but no dearer than a new Chinese copy from Shars etc.

Thanks joe. Was going to make a similar item but I got a couple projects already on the go and couldnt see it getting done anytime soon. For around $150 (via shipto) delivered I think it will fit the bill.

Yes.... I bet there could be a few gloats over that current grays auction in Sydney.... If only I was closer... So much nice stuff...

Well it finally arrived, via Shipto. Then I realised they sent me the wrong item. It's still a universal grinding fixture but it was supposed to be a rather nice Rockwell Univice!
I kicked up a fuss and they explained that they sold 2 similar items at the same time, I must have got the other one. For my troubles they knocked US40 off the price. Happy with that! Instead of costing $88 it now cost me $48 + $100 shipping (ouch!)
I'm puzzled at it's origin but I think it may be a Union Butterfield, similar to this one. Actually I think this one is missing a section?

Here's mine. Fits nicely on my Herus 3A

Trying to resist the urge to repaint it! Why do I always feel the need to paint things?
