    Default SIP crap

About ten years ago I bought a new SIP coppermate MIG .... not impressed with it really. Had trouble with the cheap plastic feed mechanism .... there is a mod that everybody does to make it feed better , a bracing braket you fix onto it to make it more rigid and stop slipping . Some have come up with fancy DC electronic control gadgets for the feed motor ...

never will I buy SIP again

Can I offer some advice on your drill press stand (if you haven't already thought of this)
Put some shelves in it, box it in with a door on the front. Paint it inside with gloss white or similar. Its surprising how much drill press related stuff you will be able to fit in there. Mine is about half the size of what you could have and I keep just about all my small drills (up to 13mm or so) plus a few small clamps etc with room to spare.
