    Default tool post tart up

    G'Day,
When I first fitted an AXA toolpost I had limited access to a milling machine and had to work fairly quickly, and yes I made a right pox of it. I got so embarrassed looking at it that I decided to make 2 new interchangeable T plates from fine grain Cast Iron. They are set up with indexing stops so that toolposts can be swapped back and forth with repeatable positioning. Also made up a locking nut and lever for the AXA (reaching for a spanner every time you change tool angle is a pain in the butt).
    Regards,
    Martin (Toolman49)

    Nice work Martin
A QCTP is another thing on my to do list lol
Are they oil nipples in the center of the T plates? or is it part of the "indexing stops"?
Where abouts do you get your cast iron from?

Those handles come up looking great and good work on the T slots.

    G'Day Stuart,
They are button headed cap screws used to index the T plates, The cast iron was cut from a billet originally used as a theatre curtain counter weight and is probably about 100 years old, (wish I had more of it).
    Regards,
    Martin
