Another tool supplier
I just wanted to give you all a heads up about another tooling supplier I found on the 'net : shars.com
I don't know if anyone has heard of it before and I've yet to buy anything off them yet, the prices do seem very good on the other hand, about on par with CDCO for micrometers but with the advantage of actually selling metric. The indexable carbide insert tooling is priced a lot better than Ebay second hand item from what I can see.
Let me know what you think?.

I haven't bought anything from them yet, but Joey (the owner) gets around the forums as well.
Let us know if you buy anything, I am sure he will be helpful.
Dave
PS
I just realised that the coaxial indicator that I bought last week from over in the US is from Shars, it got delivered today and seems OK. It's new but I bought it off another seller (The machinist Box) through ebay not Shars.

Ive bought a fair bit off stuff from them .I can recommend them as last time they over charged on postage , but they immediately refunded the difference ,with out me even knowing it until I received an e-mail from Pay pal informing me of the refund.

From what I see on their ebay shop, I think postage is a bit high for some things,

It's good to hear others have bought from them, maybe they can use the $40 prepaid USPS box?.

Like Kev and others, I have purchased often from Shars....I spoke with David there this morning and he told me they prefer to get an email list/order of what you intend to purchase so they can roughly work out the size of the package, weight and subsequent cost....they then reply to your email with a quote and if you decide to go ahead, email a confirmation back to them.....if it works out cheaper than he quotes, then they re-credit the difference back...their on-line web freight quote system is not geared up for International freight costs so drop them an email instead....David will quote on a "PMI" box rate for international orders but they won't freight the heavier stuff to Oz like the Universal Cutter Sharpener Kev's after for his collection on the mantel piece ............their stuff usually arrives in 7 days, including their latest catalogue .........Lee
