Tooling size with quick change tool post.
I have put a quick change tool post on my lathe and would like your recommendation for tooling size.
The height of the slot will fit 16mm tools, but the width is about 12mm. The tooling is generally square and either 12mm or 16mm
Is it best to use 12mm and wind the grub screws to hold it, and have the bottom width of the tool fully supported?
Or
Use 16mm tooling that fits snug to the top of the slot in the QCTP, but hangs out 4mm at the side?
Sorry if thisoaa dumb nube question.
Cheers.
