    3phase....you will need to factor in costs associated with isolation and changeover to gen power, as it will be fixed wiring..most likely? If its a small gen set you need, these costs may be relatively low
    cant have your gen set putting power back into grid when its running.

    how often is it going to be run...then factor in cost against lost production for the year?...

    I ended up finding a diesel powered genset within an hours drive it's powered by a six cylinder Volvo Penta diesel and has an output of 125 Kva so probably a bit more that we need but room for expansion in there! Thanks Bob and Phil for your suggestions phone numbers etc.
    I picked it up today and brought it home it weighs 2 Tonnes it was a lot of fun getting it off the truck with the tractor! Had to lift it a bit and drive the truck out from under it and then gingerly put it down. Then had to get it into the shed every time I wanted to turn the wheel
    I had to put the genny down! anyway all good now.
    Will be a month or so before I can get any further I will get photo's etc and put them up.
