I have been searching Google for info on it so I know how to put it back into a grinder..
According to the previous owner it doubles as a surface grinder as well as a tool grinder.

I have a 1923 Norton Tool and Cutter Handbook containing illustrations of grinders looking mighty like yours. So you won't be expecting too much, the handbook measures 130 x 180 and some of it's 117 pages are illustrated with typical set ups, cross sections etc etc.

Made in America, sold in England, modified in Australia. It's better travelled than I am. I know nothing about grinders but it doesn't look abused or rusty. Will look forward to updates.

Nice find Matthew, I love the lines of those old school grinders and the cast iron base on yours is fantastic.
Looks like it still has a nice selection of the original tooling which is so often missing from old machines that have been adapted for other uses.
It's good to know another old machine tool will not be going to the scrappers.

Very nice find indeed! It looks like a well built tool and cutter grinder - many of which could do surface and cylindrical grinding (as this one seems to have the tooling for).
Hope the interim use as a milling machine hasn't done too much harm.

Nice one Bob on the manual. Re putting your email in the forums though - just keep in mind that spambots can search these threads and pull out email addresses such as the one you have posted, so you might want to edit your post and break up the address with a space or two or you risk an influx of offers for cheap viagra from foreign companies.

No probs, hopefully you dont get too much rubbish as a result. If you ever see blokes spell out their emails like 'bob at bigpond dot com' this is why they do it.

Just contact our mod Bob and he will remove it now it's done it's job and all the spam guys have it, LOL
